# P0 executive business-health reporting

Suhas Narayan | Business Intelligence Engineer

Sanitized portfolio case study prepared for portfolio review.

## Business challenge

Technical program managers manually assembled executive business-health metrics in spreadsheets. Disparate engagement, time-tracking, and ticketing sources required consistent definitions and a repeatable reporting process.

## My contribution

I partnered with customers to understand business definitions, reporting needs, and preparation pain points. I built the Gold-layer reporting datasets and authored the reusable modular PySpark functions that generated standardized metrics for P0 monthly business reviews attended by L8–L10 leadership.

## Decisions & methods

- Established shared definitions across operational workflows. Worked with stakeholders to define demand, throughput, timeliness, workforce effort, utilization, and cost-to-serve measures, connecting each metric to the business question it needed to answer.
- Built a reusable reporting framework. Authored modular PySpark functions for month-over-month, year-to-date, and trailing-six-month reporting, transforming outputs into the standard monthly business review format.
- Exposed variation beyond headline totals. Calculated P50, P75, and P90 measures for engagement completion time, hours, and staffing requirements, allowing leaders to assess typical performance alongside resource-intensive engagements.
- Unified the executive view across sources. Integrated engagement management, time-tracking, and enterprise ticketing data into Gold-layer reporting datasets, bringing workload, service performance, and resource consumption into a consistent reporting process.

## Outcome

Saved six hours of manual metric preparation per reporting cycle while delivering standardized P0 business-health metrics for organization-wide monthly business reviews attended by L8–L10 leadership.

## Results & context

The reporting covered engagement volumes, evidence turnaround, SLA performance, workforce effort, utilization, and cost-to-serve. Reusable functions standardized comparison windows and reporting formats for recurring executive reviews.
